Local Musicians Nominated for Regional Award
CHESTER, CT - Three musicians from Chester have been nominated for the for a 2015 New England Music Award. The Meadows Brothers are an Americana/folk duo noted for their earthy, emotionally expressive songs and superbly crafted vocal harmonies. Ian Meadows (guitar) and Dustin Meadows (guitar, harmonica) started performing in 2010. The Meadows Brothers have been nominated for the “Best in State” award for Connecticut.
Eric Lichter of Dirt Floor Studios, a recording studio in Chester has been nominated for “Best Producer”. Lichter started his old school recording studio in the CT state forest in 2006. The studio is renowned for its hands-on approach to recording. He coaches his wide variety of musically inclined clients on their compositions and is able to play any instrument needed, from keyboards to pedal steel as well adding vocal tracks.
The 2015 nominations were chosen by the NEMA nominating committee, consisting of a variety of music industry experts including journalists from music publications, radio personalities, talent buyers, event planners, and record label executives.This selection of professionals collectively represents all six New England states and every awards category. Winners are chosen by public online voting at the NEMA website, www.nemusicawards.com. The deadline for voting is March 1. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at Showcase Live in Foxboro, MA on Saturday, April 18, 7 p.m
