North Branford Softball Rips Off Three Straight, While Boys’ Tennis Splits the Week
Baseball
T-birds baseball picked up a pair of wins last week before snapping a 7-0 win streak. On May 1, the team traveled to Clinton, defeating Morgan 12-3. They stayed on the road, visiting Haddam-Killingworth for a 5-1 victory on May 3. The team returned home on May 5, hosting East Hampton for a 4-2 win. The team is now 11-4.
Boys’ Lacrosse
A six-game win streak came to an end for boys’ lacrosse, after the team split the week. On May 2, they hosted Cromwell in a 13-2 win. They traveled to Old Saybrook on
May 4, falling to their hosts 12-9. The T-birds are now 7-3 for the season.
Girls’ Lacrosse
Girls’ lacrosse sandwiched a loss between two convincing wins last week to bring their season record to 8-3. On May 2, they traveled to Cromwell, defeating their hosts 19-5. Returning home on May 4,
Old Saybrook handed the home team a narrow 14-13 defeat. The Hornets bounced back on May 6, hosting Lyman Hall for a 17-4 win.
Softball
Softball recovered handily from its lone loss of the season, posting three back-to-back wins last week. The team hosted Morgan on May 2 in a 14-1 win, and they hosted Haddam-Killiingworth on May 3 for a 7-6 win. They traveled to East Hampton on May 5 and recorded a 10-1 victory. The T-birds are 14-1 for the season.
Boys’ Tennis
Boys’ tennis split the week, recording both a win and a loss on the road. On May 3, they traveled to face Platt Tech in a 5-2 win. The T-birds fell to Lyman Hall on May 4 in a 0-7 match. The team is now 4-12.
Girls’ Tennis
North Branford girls’ tennis ripped off two wins last week. On May 3, the team traveled to Haddam-Killingworth and defeated the home team 4-3 before returning home on May 5 to host Portland in another 4-3 T-birds victory. The team is now 2-9 on the season.
