Valley Boys’ Lacrosse Claims Win in Season Opener; Tennis Teams Earn Victories
Boys’ Lacrosse
The Valley Regional boys’ lacrosse squad played its home opener of the 2021 season last week. The Warriors claimed a victory over North Branford, and opened the campaign with a 1-0 record.
On April 10, Valley Regional hosted North Branford. The Warriors triumphed over the Thunderbirds by a score of 10-6 in Head Coach Jake Azzinaro’s first game as Head Coach of the Warriors.
Girls’ Tennis
The Warriors opened the spring season at home with a win over East Hampton. Valley improved their record to 1-0 to start the campaign.
On April 10, Valley hosted the Bellringers and claimed a 6-1 victory in the match.
Boys’ Tennis
The Valley Regional boys’ tennis team opened the 2021 season on the road and claimed a victory over East Hampton. The Warriors improved their record to 1-0 to start the campaign.

Baseball
The Warriors dropped their opening contest of the 2021 season last week. The defeat drops Valley’s record to 0-1 to begin the campaign.
On April 10, the Warriors took a 4-2 home loss against North Branford.
The Thunderbirds drew first blood with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Valley cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the second inning. North Branford would add to their advantage with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning. Valley tried to mount a come back in the bottom of the seventh, but the Warriors were only able to plate one run. North Branford ultimately claimed the 4-2 win.
Valley knocked six hits in the loss, while North Branford tallied eight base hits.
