Three Tigers’ Teams Lose in SCCs
Field Hockey
The Hand field hockey team took a loss to Guilford in the semifinals of the SCC Division A Tournament last week. On Nov. 9, the 3rd-seeded Tigers played at No. 2 seed Guilford and lost the game by a 4-1 score. Hand finished with an overall mark of 8-4 on the year.
Freshman Sydney Courtmanche netted the Tigers’ lone goal in their loss to Guilford. Junior goalie Megan Hart made 16 saves in net.
Girls’ Soccer
The Hand girls’ soccer squad saw its season come to a close in the semifinals of the SCC Division B Tournament on Nov. 11. No. 2 seed Hand hosted No. 3 Branford for a semifinal game and lost a 1-0 decision against the Hornets. The Tigers posted an overall record of 5-4-2 this season.
Girls’ Volleyball
The Tigers’ girls’ volleyball team squared off with East Haven on the semifinals of the SCC Division C Tournament last week. No. 3 seed Hand played at No. 2 seed East Haven and dropped a 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 25-27, 25-17) decision to the Yellowjackets. Hand’s final record on the season was 5-8.
