Branford U-17 Baseball Beats Madison, Takes Three Losses to North Haven
The Branford U-17 baseball team lost three of its four games in recent Connecticut Elite Baseball Association action to move to 2-10 on the campaign. Branford posted a win over Madison before taking three defeats to North Haven in last week’s matchups.
On July 19, Branford hosted Madison and claimed a 5-1 victory at Branford High School. John Onofrio pitched a stellar game for Branford by allowing just one run on three hits and two walks in six innings. Austin Rhodes went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI to pace the Branford offense. Adam Chase went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, Zach Turbert was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Mike Farricielli went 1-for-3 with a run for Head Coach Michael Krause’s club.
On July 21, Branford opened up a series against North Haven by taking a 3-2 home loss at Totoket Park. The next day, Branford dropped a 3-2 decision to North Haven in road game at DeMayo Ballfield. On July 24, Branford took a loss to North Haven via forfeit for a road game that was scheduled to be played at Bailey Road Field.
