North Branford Indoor Track Presents Postseason Awards
North Branford’s boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams recently competed a season in which the Thunderbirds worked hard all winter and then put forth solid performances at the Shoreline Conference Championship. The girls’ team finished in second place out of 13 teams with 66 points, while the boys finished eighth with 26 points scored for the conference meet.
Two school records were broken on the girls’ side for the Thunderbirds this year. At the Shoreline Championship, Jenna Bryden took second place in the 300-meter dash with a time of 44.64 seconds, just topping the school mark of 44.65 that was previously held by Emmy Dulak. North Branford broke another school record at the Shoreline Coaches Invite when Emily Muzyka’s shot put throw of 30 feet-6.5 inches bettered the mark of 29-8.5 by Jessica Wharton. Also, junior Grace Little made the All-Shoreline First Team in the 55-meter dash as she won the event with a time of 7.68 seconds at the conference meet. Bryden was All-Shoreline in both the 55 and 300 as a result of placing second in each event. Also making All-Shoreline Second Team were Muzyka in the shot put and Winnie Chan in the high jump.

Rookie of the Year honors went to Michael Rabuffo and Erika Roof. The Desire and Dedication awards were presented to Jacob Marshall and Chan. The Coaches Award went to Sarah Criscuolo.
