Salt Water

Branford Point: Harbor St., Branford. Crabbing, fishing, picnic area, swimming. Handicapped accessible. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (staffed), park officially closes at 10 p.m. Must have a Branford residents sticker to park in the parking lot, available from the tax collector. For info, visit

Clinton Town Beach: Waterside Ln., Clinton. Open 9 a.m. to sunset, to Labor Day. Seasonal passes for residents are $20 and $10 for seniors; non-residents pay $25 per day. Purchase passes at the beach. For info, visit

East Haven Town Beach: Cosey Beach Ave. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day. Splash pad, picnic tables, playscape, bocce courts, volleyball nets, and more. Parking (free) for residents with passes only. For info, visit

Hammonasset Beach State Park: 1288 Boston Post Rd., Madison. Largest shoreline park with 550 campsites, hiking, picnic areas, and nature center. Handicapped accessible. For info, call 203-245-1817.
