Police Incident Report for July 5 to 11
The Source publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Madison and Killingworth. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Madison
Wednesday, July 5
• A 47 year-old woman of unrecorded address was arrested at 4:25 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• A 46 year-old man of Green Hill Road was arrested at 10:58 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal violation of a protective order, and unlawful restraint in the first degree.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated at 148 Middle Beach Road at 8:19 a.m.
Thursday, July 6
No arrests were made.
• A burglary was investigated at 490 Old Toll Road at 6:40 a.m. Forcible entry was made into a commercial building.
• An animal nuisance was investigated on Boston Post Road at Signal Hill Road at 9:26 a.m.
• An animal rescue was conducted at 1260 Durham Road at 11:58 a.m.
• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated at 1320 Boston Post Road at 2:12 p.m.
Friday, July 7
• A 42 year-old man of Albany, Georgia was arrested at 12:51 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.
• A 50 year-old Southington man was arrested at 8:27 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.
Saturday, July 8
No arrests were made.
• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on the Hammonasset Connector at Interstate 95 exit 62 at 12:11 a.m.
• An animal nuisance was investigated at 291 Duck Hole Road at 6:50 a.m.
• An animal nuisance was investigated at 818 Boston Post Road at 10:56 a.m.
• A motor vehicle accident involving an animal was investigated on Old Toll Road at Hickory Lane at 1:08 p.m.
• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Old Toll Road near Summer Hill Road at 5:50 p.m.
• An animal nuisance was investigated on Riverside Lane at 7:22 p.m.
• A water rescue was reported at 87 Surf Club Road at 7:43 p.m.
Sunday, July 9
No arrests were made.
• A stray animal was found on the 500 block of Durham Road at placed in the animal shelter at 9:47 a.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated at Overlook Drive at 8:48 p.m.
Monday, July 10
No arrests were made.
• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Wellsweep Drive at 4:36 p.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 128 Genesee Lane at 7:24 p.m.
Tuesday, July 11
No arrests were made.
• An animal nuisance was investigated on Johnson Lane at 12:34 p.m.
• A motor vehicle accident was investigated on Old Toll Road at Buck Hill Road at 2:46 p.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 967 Durham Road at 3:24 p.m. Non-forcible entry was made to a residence.
Killingworth
Wednesday, July 5
No arrests were made.
• A 57 year-old Ivoryton man was issued a citation at 7:06 a.m. for failure to drive right after the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu he was operating westbound on Route 80 two miles west of Route 81 struck an embankment. He was transported to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic for treatment of possible injuries.

Friday, July 7
• A 35 year-old Guilford woman was issued a citation at 12:28 p.m. for failure to grant right of way after the 2009 Toyota Rav4 Sport she was operating northbound on Green Hill Road collided with a 1999 Ford F350 Super Duty pick-up truck operated by a 64 year-old Cheshire man. The crash occurred at the Route 81 intersection when the cited driver attempted to turn north onto Route 81 from Green Hill Road and failed to see the oncoming vehicle. Both operators sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic for treatment.
Saturday, July 8 to Sunday, July 9

Monday, July 10
No arrests were made.
• Multiple 911 calls were made to police dispatch at 11:15 p.m. reporting explosions in the area of Bar Gate Trail. Upon arrival police found that several mailboxes appeared to have been damaged from fireworks. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Troop F at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.
