Guilford Police Incident Report for April 23 and 24
Thursday, April 23
• A 40 year-old Madison man was arrested at 9:18 a.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and two counts of sexual assault in the first degree.
• A complaint about a customer who failed to pay an oil bill was investigated on Stepstone Hill Road at 7:37 a.m.
• A smoke condition was investigated in boiler room #2 of the Guilford High School at 8:10 a.m. The school was evacuated until the smoke condition was cleared.
• Police provided an officer to standby at Planet Fitness located at 700 Boston Post Road while a membership was terminated at 10:38 a.m.
• A "large amount" of baby formula was stolen from Walmart located at 900 Boston Post Road at 2:36 p.m.
• A suspicious person was reported at 484 Mulberry Point Road at 5:55 p.m. The complainant stated that a male carrying a burlap bag was behind the shed for around 20 minutes. The man was wearing a beige hat and a dark jacket.
• A fraud complaint involving a false tax filing was investigated at 16 Pheasant Run at 7:27 p.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 7 Dowd Court at 11:45 p.m. The complainant believed that his ex-spouse entered the house, took mail, and attempted to invade his privacy.
Friday, April 24
No arrests were made.
• A burglary attempt was investigated at 51 Squaw Lane at 10:13 a.m. A white male in his 20s broke a window and left the scene in a dark gray SUV.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on Sullivan Drive at 1:33 p.m. Graffiti was painted on a bridge overpass on the East River.
• Damage to a mailbox was reported at 168 Fitch Hill Road. The complainant stated that a John's trash company truck damaged the mailbox and then evaded the scene.
• Harassment was investigated on Sperry Drive. An ex-wife was harassing the complainant.
