Hubert C. Hodge Jr.
On Nov. 3, Hubert C. Hodge, Jr., 73, a longtime resident of Madison, passed away at Parkville Nursing Center, Hartford. Mr. Hodge was born in New Haven on June 8, 1950, the son of the late Hurbert C. Hodge Sr. and Grace (Tinker) Hodge.
Father of Stephanie O’Sullivan (Dan) of Guilford, Andrew Hodge (Serena) of Hubert, NC, and Kelsey Balsamo (Gabriel) of Madison. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Emily O’Sullivan, Hannah O’Sullivan, Lucas Balsamo, and Anthony Balsamo, along with his sister Joan Joos of Hopkinton, NH. He was predeceased by his sisters, Diane Rice-Hodge and Suzanne Hodge-Birks.
Mr. Hodge is a graduate of Milford Academy and received a Bachelor’s in Business from The University of New Haven. He was a proud third-generation owner of the American Buckal Company in West Haven and a Past President of the Quinnipiac Club of New Haven. His greatest love was antique cars, especially MGs. He was always the happiest when tinkering in the garage on his 1951 MG TC, MG TD, and 1978 Datson 280z.
