David “Bruce” Pentland
David “Bruce” Pentland, 77, of Guilford, passed away suddenly at his home on Nov. 3. He was the devoted husband of Dianne (Patrick) Pentland. Bruce was born April 10, 1946, in Norwalk, son of the late Robert and Jane Pentland, and was predeceased by his son William Pentland of Madison. Bruce is also survived by his brother Robert “Rod” Pentland and his wife Susan; his nephew Jason Pentland and his wife Nicole; as well as three great-nephews, all of Suwanee, Georgia.
Bruce proudly served his country in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas, during the Vietnam War. His love of cars led to a career in various aspects of the auto industry over his lifetime. Bruce was an active member of the American Legion Post 48 in Guilford. He was an avid dog lover, having rescued many pets through the years. Bruce was a friend to all and always willing to lend a helping hand or one of his many tools since we are confident he has them all.
Friends were invited to a memorial service on Nov. 9 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #48, PO Box 1453, Guilford, CT 06437. To share a memory or leave condolences, visit www.guilfordfuneralhome.com
