John C. Laiacone
On Oct. 18, John C. Laiacone, 86, a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away at Arden House in Hamden.
Husband of Joy (Delia) Laiacone. Mr. Laiacone was born in Bridgeport on May 13, 1937, son of the late John Laiacone and Anna (Abramo) Laiacone. Father of Loretta (Margaret), Cheryl, John (Catherine) Luanne (David), and Mathew; four stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Brother of Angela Weber.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Bullard Havens, Phoenix Community College. Before his retirement, he worked for General Electric as a corporate barber for many years and owned his own barber shop. John was an avid football fan, he loved watching game shows with his wife and grandchildren, he was happiest being a snowbird in Florida, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with Joy his wife of 40 years.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Alder Brook Cemetery, 375 Boston St, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
