Jonathan Stuart Pascale
On April 15, Jonathan Stuart Pascale, 48, a longtime resident of Guilford and most recently Branford, passed away as a result of a tragic accident at his home. He was born in New Haven on Feb. 3, 1975, and was the beloved son of Patrick Pascale and Lesley (Vaughan) Pascale of Guilford. He was the loving brother of Laura (Pascale) Zaino and her husband Nick; and the devoted uncle of Sarah, Christopher, and Katherine Zaino, all of Glastonbury. He is also survived by his aunt Linda Pascale, of East Haven; his uncle Arthur Benz, of Port Charlotte, Florida; and numerous cousins and extended family in Connecticut, Florida, and the United Kingdom. He was predeceased by his aunts, Suzanne Gauthier and Dolores Benz; his uncles, William Pascale, and Raymond Gauthier; and his cousin John DelSanto.
Jonathan graduated from Guilford High School in 1993. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University and his master’s degree in education from the University of New Haven. He was currently employed by the United States Post Office in Branford. He was also an incredibly talented artist who ran a business where he lovingly crafted expressions such as “love,” “peace,” and “hope” out of wood he collected while hiking. Crafting these “majigees,” as Jonathan referred to them, was his passion.
He was an avid New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan, a music enthusiast who enjoyed attending concerts with family and friends, and an accomplished pool player. He was also a dedicated volunteer with the Connecticut Special Olympics, where he served for many years as a partner-coach for volleyball and soccer. He loved the outdoors and all animals, including his beloved cat Mason. Those who know Jonathan describe him as caring, kind, giving of himself, and authentic. He truly was a gentle soul who valued his family and friends above all else, and he will be deeply missed.
A memorial celebration of Jonathan’s life was held on April 24 at the First Congregational Church, 100 Broad Street, Guilford. Burial services will be held privately.
