Dr. Darrell Lacock of Guilford, 84, died peacefully at his home on Oct. 6.
Survivors include children Heidi Brant, Jennifer Brant, and Dr. Joshua Brant; seven grandchildren; and sister Pamela O’Sullivan.
Darrell was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University (B.A.), Southern Connecticut State University (MSW), and Yale University, where he received a Ph.D. in education.
A dedicated and beloved professor, Darrell taught philosophy of education at Yale and Wesleyan for more than 20 years. In addition, Darrell worked as a licensed clinical social worker on the Connecticut shoreline in private practice with his wife, Dr. Cynthia Townshend-Lacock.
A passionate gardener, Darrell loved practicing tai chi, playing folk music on the guitar, and spending time with his family at his vacation home in the British Virgin Islands.
