Helen A. Kelly, 77, of East Haven
Helen A. Kelly, 77, of East Haven died on May 31 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born July 11, 1936 in New Haven, she was a daughter of Phillip and Mary (Dudek) Siwinski. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Katie Haycock.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years John Kelly Sr.; her children John Kelly Jr. of East Haven, Diane LeBlanc (Ronald) of East Haven, Donna Houde (William) of Old Saybrook, and Dineen Baldino of East Haven; her grandchildren USCG LT. William Houde (Melissa) of Virginia, Third Asst. Engineer with Military Sealift Command United States Navy Johnathan Houde of Italy, United States Army Capt. David Houde, Special Operations, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Renee Burnham (William) of Hamden, Sarah LaBlanc of East Haven, Alora Baldino of East Haven, and Nikki Baldino of East Haven; and one great grandchild Safiyah Burnham. Helen is also survived by her brothers Teddy Siwinski (Dottie) of East Haven and Robert Siwinski of Rhode Island, and her sister Mary Meyerholz (Robert) of Rhode Island.
Helen, a.k.a. "Loves," was a devoted and loving wife and soulmate of John, a.k.a. "Poppy." She loved her garden and her bird, cooking for her family, going to Notre Dame football games, the holidays--especially Christmas--and shopping. Her two favorite Christian hymns were "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and "I Come to the Garden Alone." She loved sharing her thoughts about her family, and was extremely proud of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven at which time the funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Clare Church, Coe Avenue, East Haven. Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford CT 06405 in memory of Helen Kelly.
