Henry Newel (“Hank”) Bonnett, 66, Supply, North Carolina, formerly of Guilford
Henry Newel (“Hank”) Bonnett, 66, a long time resident of Guilford, died suddenly on Nov. 19 at his residence in Supply, North Carolina. He was the husband of 40 years to Jo-Ann Altrui Bonnett. Mr. Bonnett was born in New Haven on April 16, 1946, son of the late Henry Bates and Adelaide Ives Bonnett. He was a retired line group leader with United Illuminating. Mr. Bonnett was also a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the Holden Beach North Carolina Turtle Watch program. In addition, he was an animal lover, an avid golfer, and a woodworker.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Daniel Bonnett and his wife Michelle of Jenks, Oklahoma; a daughter, Jennifer Bonnett Stith and her husband Brian of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and four beloved grandchildren, Hayden Bonnett, Ethan Bonnett, Danielle Bonnett, and Charlotte Stith. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel Bonnett of Canton and Eugene Downs of Alaska.
A memorial service will take place at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. Visitation with the family will take place prior to the funeral from 1 to 2 p.m. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
