Carol Moosdorf Corey, 75, Rocky Hill, formerly of East Haven
Carol Moosdorf Corey, 75, of 22 Chestnut Court, Rocky Hill, died peacefully after a long illness on July 6 at the Masonicare Hospice in Wallingford. Carol was born in East Haven on June 8, 1937, the youngest child of the late Paul and Marie Mlakar Moosdorf. Carol had worked locally for most of her life in the insurance industry, retiring from Peerless Insurance Company in 2002. She will be remembered for her love of golf, daily work-outs at the Rocky Hill Tennis and Fitness Center, and her devotion to her church.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Corey-Lisle and her husband Leslie Lisle of Thousand Oaks, California, and Steven Corey of Honeoye, New York. Carol was the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Kirsten Taylor, Trevor Albert and his wife Trista, Aaron Albert, Samantha and Michaela Corey, and Seth and Elias Lisle, and two great-grandchildren, Skylar and James Taylor. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Sygiel and her brother-in-law Rudolph Vaccaro of East Haven, and by her close friend, Cheryl Marcoux of Higganum.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill, on Wednesday, July 11, for a mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
