Horatio Raymond Gregory, 82, Plainfield, formerly of Clinton
Horatio Raymond Gregory, 82, of Plainfield, formerly of Clinton, died March 23 at Regency Heights of Danielson. He was the husband of Mary Ann Gregory. Mr. Gregory was born in Norwich on July 13, 1929, son of the late Horatio and Winifred (Strong) Gregory. He was a 1947 graduate of Norwich Free Academy and served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War. After the war, Mr. Gregory settled in Clinton, where he worked for Unilever, formerly Chesebrough Ponds, until his retirement.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Dawn Burger and her husband James of Fletcher, North Carolina, Jeanine Lupone and her husband Angelo of Clinton, and Ramona Jennings and her husband Robert of Clinton; two stepsons, Christopher Mazzeo of Clinton and Edward Mazzeo of Mattituck, New York; five grandsons, Jeffrey P. Burr, Ryan A. Jennings, Gabriel R. Jennings, Vincent D. Lupone, and James G. Burger; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m., at the Plainfield Congregational Church, Route 12, Plainfield. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. A reception celebrating Mr. Gregory’s life will be held at the home of Jeanine and Angelo Lupone of Clinton at 5:30 p.m. following the service, for those wishing to attend.
