Diane Lanpher (“Dinny”) LaFage, 76, Vero Beach, Florida, and Little Compton, Rhode Island, formerly of Essex
Diane Lanpher (“Dinny”) LaFage, 76, of Vero Beach, Florida, and Little Compton, Rhode Island, formerly of Essex, died peacefully on Aug. 15 in Providence, Rhode Island, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Lou LaFage and daughter of the late Lawrence and Peggy Lanpher. Dinny was educated at The Lincoln School, Emma Willard, and Briarcliff College. She had lived in Essex for 45 years and was also a lifelong summer resident of Little Compton, Rhode Island. A tennis player, golfer, sailor, ski instructor, swimmer, mother, and wise and caring friend to many, Dinny was a lovely person.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Martha of Chicago, Illinois; her son Ted and his life partner Megan and their daughter Romy of Belfast, Maine; and her beloved pets, Cooper and Obediah. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Pat Compton of Brentwood, California, and Peggy Walmsley of Shipton upon Wychwood, England.
A memorial service will be celebrated at the Little Compton Congregational Church on Saturday Aug. 27 at noon. In lieu of flowers, please honor Dinny's memory with donations to The Program on Women's Oncology at Women’s and Infants Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island.
