Ann Martone, 76, of East Haven passed away June 18 surrounded by her family. She was born July 25, 1940, in New Haven to Pasquale and Antoinette (Rubino) Greco.
Ann is survived by her four loving and caring sons, Ronald Martone (Louise) of West Haven, Michael Martone (Jaime) of Milford, Junie Martone (Susan) of Killingworth, and Steve Martone (Sharon) of North Branford; along with 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Angie Palmieri of East Haven. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Martone, and siblings Benny Greco, Mary Mase, and Anthony Greco.
Ann was a very feisty young lady who was a 4’11” ball of fire. She took no crap from anyone and loved passionately, but if she didn’t like you, watch out. She married Hank Martone and had 5 sons. She was a housewife and mother and lived for her children. She fought tooth and nail for family. She grew so fond of her awesome friends, especially the residents in East Farm Village where she resided for 23 years, whom she enjoyed spending time with and missed so dearly when she had to leave. She was known affectionately as Annie because she was sweet and tiny (if they only knew her when she was young). She will be sorely missed!!
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 22 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. The funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on June 23 at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
