Linda Tipping, 70, of Manchester, formerly of East Haven, passed away on June 4 at Hartford Hospital. Linda was born in New Haven on Dec. 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Gilbert) Tipping.
She is survived by her loving daughter Christin LaBelle (Paul) of Kensington; son Jeffrey DeMatto of Canterbury; grandson Mason DeMatto; and future grandson Ryan LaBelle. Linda is also survived by her brother Russell Tipping (Margaret); half-brothers Gilbert Digby and William Digby (Jane-Margaret); numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Linda graduated with honors from ECSU and had many different occupations throughout her career, including high school English teacher, associate director of planned giving and development, and most recently before retiring, community outreach coordinator for the Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center. She was an active member of the Board of Directors Southington Chamber of Commerce and United Way, and past president of Rotary. Linda most enjoyed being with her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on June 17 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
