Roberta Grace Terapane, 83, passed away peacefully on April 11 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Roberta was born in Meriden on March 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Alexander and Adeline (DiMartino) Terapane, and lived in Madison later in life.
She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. Remarkably, she chose to serve in the Peace Corps in her sixties, spending three years living with a village family in Nepal and working in a medical clinic. Roberta was a longtime Bahá’í devoted in service to the Faith wherever she lived. She served on the local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Meriden for many years.
She is survived by her son Robert Terapane and his wife Karen; her granddaughter Nikki Terapane; her brother Alexander Terapane; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Terapane, Anna Terapane, Sophie Baillargeon, Ida Ryder, and Rose Mansolf; and her brothers John, Carmelo, Armand, Robert, and Albert Terapane.
A Bahá’í burial service was held April 15 in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden, attended by family and friends. Arrangements were overseen by Wallingford Funeral Home.
