Library Presents Dubus Author Event
Acclaimed author Andre Dubus III returns to the Guilford Free Library on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. to discuss his latest book, Such Kindness. In this novel, Dubus masterfully blends a painful moral journey with compassion and a subtle touch of dark absurdity, crafting a narrative that is both absorbing and profound.
Andre Dubus III was raised in the mill towns situated along the Merrimack River, along the border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He has authored eight books, including bestsellers House of Sand and Fog, The Garden of Last Days, and his memoir Townie. His latest novel, Gone So Long, has earned a place on numerous “Best Books” lists, including The Boston Globe’s “Twenty Best Books of 2018.” Recently, he has released the novel Such Kindness and a collection of personal essays titled Ghost Dogs. Dubus has been recognized as a finalist for the National Book Award and has received prestigious accolades, such as the Guggenheim Fellowship, The National Magazine Award for Fiction, two Pushcart Prizes, and an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature. His books are published in over 25 languages, and he teaches full-time at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
