Community Volunteers of America Benefit Nov. 13
Branford resident Ken Englemen announces the establishment of Community Volunteers of America (CVA), which will be a 501c3 non-profit organization expanding on the successful social media-based volunteer service effort currently supported by Englemen and friends, #VolunteerItsWhatWeDo.
On Sat. November 13 from 1 - 5 p.m. at the Hard Hat Café in North Haven, the Community Volunteers of America Board of Directors will be hosting a "World Kindness Day Celebration" fundraiser, with the goal of raising the legal costs in order to establish Community Volunteers of America as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Those unable to attend but wish to make a donation can contribute here
By gaining a 501c3 designation, this national association/membership club for volunteers will be able to assist multiple local non-profits at a time by providing many of them and their volunteers with the tools, resources, and information they need to achieve their local goals no matter where they are located in the United States.
There are many goals of Community Volunteers of America: To inspire more community residents to volunteer in their own communities for their local non-profits. To provide a voice to local non-profits and help introduce their services to their own community residents. To become a matchmaker inspiring community residents to assist community non-profits for mutual benefit. To develop a school program matching students with community non-profits for mutual benefit – to inspire long term community engagement.
This national association/membership club will provide the content, knowledge, experience, tools, resources, networking, and all the other "value" traditional associations offer their members, but will focus 100 percent on the wants and needs of its volunteer members and the community non-profits they serve.
Currently, there is nothing like this in the United States.
