• Mary Sobran of Madison was inducted into the Connecticut Delta Chapter of Phi Sigma Tau, the international honor society for philosophy. To qualify for induction, students must be in their sophomore year, complete two philosophy courses, have both a high overall GPA and a high average in their philosophy courses and rank in the top 35 percent of their class.
• Grant Hesse of Madison received his B.A. in environmental studies in May from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
• Hannah Elizabeth Walton of Madison graduated in May with a B.A. in psychology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Dean’s List
• Nick Ursini of Madison was named to the Dean’s List at Ohio University for the spring 2019 semester and has received a B.S. in communications.
• Megan Small of Madison was named to the Dean’s List at Bucknell University during the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive the recognition.
• Lauren Brough of Killingworth was named to the Dean’s List at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, for the winter semester ending in April 2019. Brough is a senior majoring in sociology and minoring in music.
• Cathrina Kothman of Killingworth was named to Dean’s List for the spring 2019 semester at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester and complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.
• Shayla Di Tolla of Madison was named to the spring 2019 Dean’s List at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.6 grade point average and must have completed at least 12 credit hours of course work during the semester.
• Erin Bishop Elliott of Madison was named to the Dean’s List for the Easter 2019 term at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. To earn a place on the Dean’s List, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.30 and have no grade of incomplete or lower than C for the semester.
Awards and Honors
• Arnold Moore of Killingworth was honored with the Harold A. Larrabee Prize at Union College. Moore, a member of the Class of 2020, was honored for the best work in philosophy during the year.
• Brittney Miller of Madison was named to the President’s List for the spring 2019 semester at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. To be named to the President’s List, students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average for the semester.
