Police ID Father, Son in Deaths at Branford Apartment; Homicide Ruled Out as Cause
According to Branford Police, in news released at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, a father and son have been identified as the two found deceased in a home at Branford Hills Apartments after police responded to a 911 call at 6:18 p.m. on August 5. The State Chief Medical Examiner's Office has ruled out homicide as a cause of death for both men.
Police released the following updated statement:
On August 5th at 6:18 p.m., officers responded to 111 Florence Rd. Apt 2C where they located two deceased individuals. The individuals have been identified as David Wells, age 71, and his son Jason Wells, age 36.
Additional investigative efforts by Branford Police Detectives and CT State Police Major Crime Squad along with autopsies performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled out homicide as a cause of death for both parties.
Final cause of death is awaiting toxicology results. Investigation is continuing.
