Madison Rotary Installs 90th President for 2017-’18
The Rotary Club of Madison, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, installed Michael Perry at a recent 2017-’18 joint Madison-Clinton Installation of Officers Dinner at the Clinton Country Club. The Madison Rotary was chartered on June 11, 1928 as part of the Tri-town Rotary Club of Madison, Guilford, and Clinton, with Madison considered the founding club. Since that time, Madison Rotary has endeavored to live up to the Rotary International motto “Service Above Self” by providing service to local, state, national, and international communities. Projects include local scholarship programs, student leadership forums, supporting Rotary’s International Polio Eradication Initiative, providing shelter, clothing and other needs to the people in Haiti, and funding the drilling of fresh water wells to remote villages in Uganda. In addition, the Madison Rotary Club has been a longtime source of financial support to many local organizations, including the Shoreline Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Warm the Children, Madison Cares, Neighbor to Neighbor, and many others.
Madison Rotary holds breakfast meetings at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Madison Senior Center, 29 Bradley Road. If interested in learning more about the Rotary and becoming a member, contact Michael Perry through www.madisonctrotary.org, or contact any club member.
