Police Incident Report Aug. 15 to 28
The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Westbrook
Wednesday, Aug. 15
No arrests were made.
• A 59 year-old man of Lost Pond Lane was issued a citation at 2:48 p.m. for making an unsafe movement from a stopped or standing position. He was operating a 1998 Ford Mustang forward from a stopped position and struck the rear passenger side of a 1999 Toyota Rav4 operated by a 39 year-old West Haven man. No injuries were reported or observed.
Thursday, Aug. 16
• A 36 year-old Durham man was arrested at 10:28 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and larceny in the fourth degree. He was processed on a $7,500 surety bond.
• A 73 year-old man and a 50 year-old man of the same Boston Post Road residence were arrested at 7:56 p.m. Each man was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.
• A 30 year-old Plymouth man was arrested at 8:53 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle crash.
Friday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 19
No arrests were made.
Monday, Aug. 20
• A 32 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 12:13 a.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and assault in the third degree following a motor vehicle stop for improper backing. Troopers learned that an assault had taken place in the vehicle just prior to the traffic stop. He was processed on a $5,000 surety bond.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
No arrests were made.
• A 17 year-old boy of Wrights Pond Road was issued a written warning at 6:41 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple-lane highway. He was operating a 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS/LX southbound on Wrights Pond Road near #235 when his wallet fell on the floor and he reached to retrieve it and struck CL&P utility pole #1891. No injuries were reported or observed.

Thursday, Aug. 16
No arrests were made.
• A larceny was investigated at 5 William Street at 2:50 p.m. The plastic cover of a left vehicle tail light was stolen.
• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 8:40 p.m. A woman shoplifted items from a store in the outlets.
Friday, Aug. 17
No arrests were made.
• A larceny was investigated at 266 East Main Street at 1:40 p.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 45 Ironworks Road at 5:10 p.m. Medicine was taken from a vehicle while it was parked at a Goodwill store. A week’s supply of oxycodone, arthritis, and blood pressure medicines were taken.
• Harassment was investigated on West Walk at 5:56 p.m. A party reported receiving several unwanted phone calls from a woman whom she had an encounter with at the Mohegan Sun casino.
Saturday, Aug. 18
No arrests were made.
• Harassment was investigated on Canterbury Lane at 10:14 a.m.
Sunday, Aug. 19
• A 26 year-old woman of New York, New York was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree and forgery in the first degree, organized retail theft of less than $10,000, improper use of marker plate, possession of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
• A 36 year-old man of New York, New York was arrested at 7:15 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, possession of a shoplifting device, larceny in the third degree, forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, organized retail theft of less than $10,000, improper use of marker plate, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to signal a turn.
• An 80 year-old woman of Willow Street was arrested at 10:30 p.m. and charged with larceny the fifth degree.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 49 Shore Road at 9:21 a.m. A vehicle tire was slashed.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Willow Lane at 10:06 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 20
• An 18 year-old Norwalk man was arrested at 2:45 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 2:21 p.m. Shirts were stolen by a male.
• A larceny was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 3:24 p.m. Someone made $7,000 in purchases via fake credit cards for items to be shipped to Bronx, New York.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
No arrests were made.
• A larceny was investigated at 153 Glenwood Road at 9:08 a.m. A stolen identity was used to make over $1,000 in purchases from J.C. Penny.
• A sex offender registration was reported at 170 East Main Street at 10:04 a.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 15
• A 58 year-old Vernon woman was arrested at 8:04 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Great Hammock Road at Sharon Lane.
• A 44 year-old Mystic man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:19 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at the railroad bridge.

• A 31 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:05 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to signal a turn.
Friday, Aug. 17
• A 48 year-old East Hartford man was arrested at 10:02 a.m. and charged with illegally obtaining or supplying drugs, illegal possession of narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance.
• A 31 year-old Glastonbury man was arrested at 10:05 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.
• A 31 year-old man of Pembroke, New Hampshire was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:10 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a motor vehicle stop on Ferry Road at Clark Street.
Saturday, Aug. 18
No arrests were made.
• A 33 year-old Salem woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:10 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Springbrook Road.
Sunday, Aug. 19
• A 21 year-old Chester man was arrested at 1:15 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Middlesex Turnpike in front of the Auto Mall.
• A 40 year-old Bloomfield woman was arrested at 7:03 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation, drinking while driving, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, having an obstructed marker plate, failure to have stop lamps, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road.
• A 66 year-old man of Deer Run was arrested at 7:14 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

No arrests were made.
• A 62 year-old Meriden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:39 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
• A 40 year-old Niantic man was arrested at 10:02 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to obey a traffic control signal on Boston Post Road at Stage Road.
• A 66 year-old man of Deer Run was arrested at 5:21 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order and criminal trespass in the first degree under the domestic violence act.
