Four Hospitalized in Old Saybrook Boat Crash
A boat crash off the coast of Old Saybrook on Sept. 4 led to the hospitalization of four people. An investigation is ongoing.
According to Paul Copleman, a media relations manager for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), a 38-foot cigarette boat collided with the Old Saybrook breakwater late Monday night. All four people aboard the boat were transported to hospitals. The extent of the injuries is unknown as of press time.
DEEP’s Environmental and Conservation police officers, in addition to the U.S. Coast Guard, Old Saybrook fire, and Old Saybrook Police, responded to the accident after 9:45 p.m., Copleman said.
According to Copleman, the accident is still under investigation. More details will be provided as they become available.
