Four NBHS Writers Selected for Shoreline Honors
Press Release: Congratulations to North Branford High School (NBHS) students Zelda Galdenzi, Rachel Sauro, Lauren Ablondi-Olivo, and Eilidh Currie who were award recipients last evening (May 19) during the 34th Annual Shoreline Heads of English Departments (SHED) Writing Contest.
The contest is sponsored by the Shoreline Principal's Association and included an award event last night at Valley Regional High School (Deep River). Students from the entire 13-school conference submitted their works earlier this year in seven categories, with winners then announced at last night's event.
The process included judges reviewing the writings with a blind review during the final stage. Galdenzi was selected a third place recipient in the category of Analysis Writing (grades 9 - 10); Sauro earned second place, Personal Narrative, Ablondi-Olivio placed first for Poetry Writing and Currie placed first Analysis Writing (grades 11 - 12).
The NBHS community congratulates these students and thanks the school's dedicated English Department.
