Capital Improvement Projects Clear Latest Hurdle
By next month, North Haven residents will be able to decide if they want the town to bond $14 million to fund a trio of capital improvement projects: renovations to the firehouses, road paving, and a new public works garage.
The Board of Finance recently voted to support the bonding package and bring it to the Board of Selectmen who, during their next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1, will ask to set another town meeting to discuss the bonding projects, according to First Selectman Michael Freda.
The town meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 11. At that meeting, authorization is needed to hold a referendum, which would be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, if approved, said Freda.
“We want to make sure the public is thoroughly updated on the project,” said Freda.
