Two P/T Dispatchers to Join Clinton Police Force
After a full-time and part-time dispatcher left to take on new positions elsewhere, the police department filled the full-time position and received approval from the Board of Finance to hire two new part-time employees.
According to Major Tom Lucas, the department selected one of their part-time employees, who was already trained in the position, to fill the full-time slot.
Forty applications were submitted for the positions and the department narrowed it down to 12 before conducting interviews on Friday Oct. 14.
“I went to the Board of Selectmen last week with a different proposal because at that time we weren’t sure how the hiring process was going to pan out,” Lucas said. At the Board of Selectmen meeting, the police department originally asked for money for one full-time employee and one part-time.
