In 1918 Nova Scotia in 1918, during World War I and the Spanish flu epidemic, Elizabeth Frame murders her husband on their wedding night and puts the revolver into the blowhole of a beached whale. The story is told through the diaries of a newspaper reporter who is covering the story. His relationship with his wife plays a role in the story as well, as they deal with difficult situations. This is a different but most interesting story.
