Book Talk Series Kicks Off with Moya Aiken
The Griswold Inn is launching a book talk series, aimed at fostering community engagement and celebrating the literary arts, with two book talks and signings this fall.
The first talk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m., at The Griswold Inn's Wine Bar & Bistro, 36 Main Street, Essex. Guest speaker Moya Aiken, a local first-time author, will share anecdotes from her memoir, Shoulder. Growing up a headstrong Irish Catholic girl in a notoriously tough housing estate in Northern England, Aiken had just one goal—to live a rich, creative life in America. Aiken lives in Essex and also works as a fine artist. Attendance at the first book talk requires the purchase of a copy of Shoulder, which will serve as a ticket to the event, from Goods & Curiosities, at 47 Main Street, Essex, across the street from The Griswold Inn, or by visiting https://store.griswoldinn.com or by contacting the store directly at 860.767.0210.
The second book talk will be Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 4:30 p.m., featuring Julie Gerstenblatt’s Daughters of Nantucket. Details will be announced soon.
