Corner House and More at FITK
Corner House will play in a benefit for the Rettich Preserve and open space land preservation on Saturday, Sept. 2, with a rain day of Sunday, Sept. 3 as part of the Fire In The Kitchen series.
Charlie Shafer of FITK says, “Need a recommendation? FIK regulars Darol Anger and Joe K. Walsh have been bugging me for years to get them down here. Pretty much the whole Berklee staff, actually, has been on my case. I resisted, because, well, sometimes I like to infuriate people I guess.”
Regardless, he says, here’s the full scoop:
“We are starting the day with a whole new element, just because. Yoga in the yard: 9:30 a.m. (note new time) It’s free, just bring Yoga stuff, I have no idea what all that is. Zumba!! 10:30 a.m., same yard/meadow. Do Zumba people need stuff? I don’t know, but bring whatever it is.”
He says there will be a pause after those two activities, with the pizza going up for sale at 4 p.m. and the music starting at 5 p.m. until about 6:30 p.m. or 7.
Bring a lawn chair, maybe a blanket and beverages of your choice, he says. There is a suggested donation of $30 per adult, 5 for kids high school and under, and if they’re really small, free. “I don’t know what really small means exactly, but any really small person wobbling around qualifies.”
Those who would like to attend should let him know in advance by emailing him at pshafer8@icloud.com.
