Nibbles: Zyliss 3-Piece Knife Sets
In less than two years, I have lost two paring knives. One went into the sink disposal with fruit peelings; the other may have gone into the garbage. They were expensive and I miss them, but the idea spending $50 for another seemed frivolous. I was at Ocean State Job Lot (I visit there at least every two weeks) and found a three-piece set of Zyliss stainless-steel knives, one a paring knife, with guards, for $9.
Most of my knives are at least two decades old and I keep them on a magnetic bar on the kitchen wall. But obviously I have a problem taking care of my paring knives. All three of these inexpensive knives work really well, and I have now given sets to many of my friends. As you know, the most dangerous kitchen knife is one that is dull. These are superb, and if I lose one, I’ve lost just $3.
