Not Yet, Cut More
Vote with your own budget in mind.
Be your own advocate once again. We were heard after we voted the budget down at the last budget referendum. Let's shout this time.
In response, the Town budget was cut by $1.15 million. However, $650,000 was money the town recently saved due to a decrease in medical insurance costs. So, the decrease is around half a million dollars—a chump change for a proposed budget of $119,380,224.
Please participate in the budget meeting at Guilford High School on Tuesday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. We need to have a substantial showing.
Also, show up to vote on the budget referendum on Tuesday, May 21, at your district polling place to cast your vote to send the message that we need a much more significant cut. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other options are early and absentee voting.
With the pending increase in electric bills, fuel costs for autos and homes, and the staggering food prices we face, say not yet, cut more.
