A New Dawn
On Jan. 11, something momentous happened at the town Recreational Center. Over 100 registered Democrats came together to elect a new Democratic Town Committee (DTC), the group representing Democrats in town. Those elected stepped up to lead the party and North Haven in a positive direction.
In my discussions with the new members of the DTC, some common themes have emerged as an improved vision for the town:
Better funding for local education pays itself back many times over in improved property values and an expanded tax base.
Supporting our seniors and those in need establishes the kind of social safety net necessary to build a thriving town culture and happy neighborhoods.
Expanding renewable energy projects makes the electric grid more resilient while reducing costs for ourselves and the municipal budget.
Investing in infrastructure projects, like roads, drainage, and town buildings serves to protect property, making everyone safer and improving North Haven.
Supporting initiatives that make North Haven an inclusive, safe place for all families.
Modernizing the town and its image makes North Haven more desirable to potential residents.
These are all Democratic priorities, and there is a great opportunity to work in a bipartisan manner to achieve these goals.
We want to work with you! If you have recommendations for changes, new projects, local concerns, or anything you’re excited about, reach out to us, regardless of your party affiliation.
It’s a new dawn for the DTC, and there is so much possibility in North Haven. Let’s work together to make our town the best it can be!
