What Makes Old Saybrook So Special
We are writing to recognize Old Saybrook, a town whose boards and commissions have been mostly under Republican control for over 24 consecutive years!
Here’s a short list of some of what makes Old Saybrook’s quality of life so special: - 1. An active downtown that fuels our town’s spirit and provides a focal point for exceptional community services, dining, entertainment, and commerce. - 2. A strong business sector, soon to be physically linked by Route 1 sidewalks, that ensures Old Saybrook remains the commercial hub of the shoreline. - 3. Lovely town beaches, vistas, and marinas. - 4. An abundance of open space with picturesque walking trails and a variety of family parks and playgrounds. - 5. A community that understands the value of preserving the heritage and character of Old Saybrook’s historical roots. - 6. Cultural centers (The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, Acton Public Library, The Estuary, etc.) where people of many different backgrounds and interests come together. - 7. A community that demonstrated its resiliency through the challenges of COVID and just as quickly recovered.
Thank you to the Republican leadership that continues to be great stewards of our cultural, historical, and recreational and business assets of the town. Can’t wait to see where we go from here!
