Commitment and Expertise
My career was devoted to the education of children in Branford. As a teacher and school principal, I knew the importance of what happens within the classroom and the school. But I also know how important it is to have support and understanding from our elected officials.
Robin Comey was a passionate advocate for early childhood education before she was elected as our State Representative. During the past four years, she has become a leader within the legislative Education Committee and Committee on Children. During this past year, the Children's Committee has crafted new programs designed to offset the impact of the pandemic, particularly in children's mental health. Their new legislation 1) invests in 24/7 mobile psychiatric services; 2) provides funding for grants to schools to hire additional mental health professionals and build school-based mental health centers; and 3) invests in professional development for pediatricians to respond early to children's mental health issues.
Representative Comey brings commitment and expertise to her role as our State Representative. I hope you will join me in voting for her re-election on November 8.
