Creating a Brighter Future
Whenever elections come around, the conversation always tends to focus on what is in store for our community in the future. Whether it be focused on our education, investments into towns like Madison and Durham, and tackling public health and environmental crises that affect all of us. John-Michael Parker is a candidate who is committed to strengthening the 101st District’s future.
Part of our District’s future development relies on growing our community, which is why John-Michael has worked to secure over $5 million in state funds for places where our community comes together, including Durham Public Library, American Legion Post #79, and the now-approved Academy Community Center.
John-Michael has also been the co-chair of the Connecticut Future Caucus in Hartford, whose mission is to foster bipartisanship on issues that affect future generations, like funding mental health services for children in HB 5001, securing the transition to electric cars, and passing a state budget that will have a substantial impact in reducing our state’s longstanding debt, which brightens Connecticut’s fiscal prospects down the road.
John-Michael’s leadership in the Public Health Committee in Hartford also meant combating the opioid crisis that America and Connecticut are battling today. He led the passage on the House floor of HB 5430, An Act Concerning Opioids, which will expand tools that are based in evidence and are more likely to treat opioid addiction. I believe we can all agree that brightening our community’s future means saving those who are dealing with this problem with head-on, evidence based solutions.
I could not think of a candidate more well-equipped to serve the 101st District by creating a brighter future for our communities. That is why I am encouraging my fellow Madisonians to support the re-election of John-Michael Parker to the 101st District in the state House of Representatives.
