A Variety of Programs
Have you visited the Westbrook Public Library this summer? Thanks to its creative, warm, and welcoming staff, a variety of programs for all abounds! And after restrictions resulting from the pandemic, many of us find community gatherings are a gift.
Recently, I attended a community picnic where delicious dishes made from beloved recipes were shared. As we enjoyed the food, we visited with each other and Library staff. Our picnic favor was a beautiful, easy to read, color copy of the recently published Westbrook Community Cookbook compiled by the Westbrook Public Library.
According to Library staff, inspiration for the cookbook and picnic came from patrons who “frequently voiced their longing for the community to come back together” during the pandemic. Thanks to Westbrook Public Library staff, funding by the Community Foundation of Middlesex County and the Peach Pit Foundation, and recipes contributed by WPL patrons and staff with the “intention that they be shared and enjoyed” what a success Aug. 25’s picnic was!
I am grateful for the Westbrook Public Library’s staff, resources, and programming that enrich our community. By visiting the homepage of the Westbrook Public Library at westbrooklibrary.org, one may sign up to receive Library emails. Weekly, notification will be sent about exciting and interesting programs offered at the Westbrook Public Library that may appeal to you and your family and friends.
