Dedication, Expertise, and Advocacy
As a 16-year member and current chair of the Killingworth Board of Finance, I encourage your readers to return Annie Stirna to the board with their votes on Nov. 2. For the past four years, she has served with a rare combination of dedication to our work, expertise in accounting practices and procedures, and advocacy for Killingworth’s taxpayers.
Annie has been a dedicated contributor to our community for many years, admirably taking on volunteer positions too numerous to list here, and always finding time for more. Her work on the Board of Finance reflects the care and attention she brings to all of her many commitments. Her expertise as a working accountant has been invaluable in keeping the board abreast of current standards and in helping advise town organizations about how to optimize their fiscal strengths.
Annie is open-minded and analytical but not afraid to ask tough questions. She is unbiased in her evaluations and assessment of the issues. Her opinions are non-partisan and consistently focused on what’s best for the town, while she remains cognizant of the extent—and limitations—of the board’s mandate.
As both her credentials and my personal experience make clear, Annie Stirna has had a strong positive impact on the Board of Finance, and on the financial stability and wellbeing of Killingworth. I encourage your readers to ensure that we can benefit from her continued service by voting for her on Nov. 2.
