I’d like to thank Tracy Everson, our brand-new RTM member from the 5th District, for alerting the town that many Branford residents were unaware that our municipal emergency notification system had changed. Tracy spoke up at the last RTM meeting and Fire Chief Mahoney, the town’s emergency management director, took action.

Resident who had previously signed up for Branford alerts need to re-register by signing up at or texting their zip code to 888-777.

As someone who has been involved with local emergency preparedness in Connecticut, I know how important those alerts can be. I encourage Tracy to keep up the great work!
