A Tremendous Success
The Westbrook Treelighting Committee would like to thank the many local people, businesses, and organizations that helped make this year’s Treelighting event on Dec. 8 such a tremendous success. Thanks go to treelighters Roger and Elaine Charbonneau and the parade participants: Connecticut Volkswagen Association, Elks #1784 Color Guard, Oxford Academy, Westbrook Boy and Cub Scouts, Westbrook Girl Scouts, Westbrook High School Band, Westbrook Drum Corps, Westbrook Fire Department, Westbrook Ambulance, Westbrook Dance Academy, Westbrook Garden Club, VISTA Life Innovations, Rita Trojanowski, and Santa and Mrs. Claus and elves (Maggie Izzo, Hannah Freund, and Emma Bransfield).
Thanks go to our entertainers: Westbrook High School’s Kina Mama choir, the Old Lyme Town Band Tubadores, Carl Suiter, Westbrook Middle School grades 5 to 7 choruses, Brian Ruddy, St. John’s School choir, and Librarian Lew Daniels.
The Town Green was alive with activity thanks to Jen Capano’s bonfire and smores, Dan Medeiros’s ice sculpture, David Bradham’s horse-drawn wagon rides, and Randy and Ann Bell.
Food was provided by Westbrook Pizza, Westbrook Elks Club, Turtle Café, 640 Massage, Westbrook Inn, Singing Bridge Market and Catering, Julie’s Cup of Joe, Boy Scouts, Westbrook Emergency Management, Westbrook Ambulance, and VISTA Life Innovations. A special thank you goes to the Westbrook Historical Society and the Westbrook Drum Corps for hosting open houses.
A grateful thanks is due our hardworking set up and take down crews especially Barry Clark; Scoutmaster Doug Thomas, Richard Lianos, and the Westbrook Boy Scouts; Dana Brainerd, Don Harger, and Dennis Allen; Envirotech; John Riggio and the Public Works crew; and the Town Building, Health, Fire, and Public Safety departments. This year’s committee thanks them all.
