Please Support Your Community News Site's COVID Coverage

The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. If you believe local reporting is important and you're able to lend support during this pandemic, click here for info on making a tax-deductible donation.

I plan to vote for Tom Brockett and his running mate Donna Laich for our local RTM election. I have known Tom Brockett for 30 years and I enthusiastically support his campaign for re-election to represent the 7th District on the Branford RTM.

My son played baseball with Tom’s sons years ago and I sponsored Branford baseball teams in the 1990s. Tom has been an important part of Branford Baseball as a coach, umpire, and as commissioner. He is an honest straight-shooter.

After graduating from Branford High School, Tom went on to serve in the United States Air Force and in Vietnam. He later returned to Connecticut to attend college and law school. He recently retired from a successful career as a lawyer specializing in labor relations. In his first term on the RTM, he used this knowledge while serving on the Ways and Means Committee and the Public Services Committee.

Tom has always been a hard worker and I know he will continue to show the same dedication to serving the people of the 7th District on the RTM. I encourage your readers to join me in supporting Tom Brockett and Donna Laich on Nov. 5.
