The proposed Madison school budget for next year is $55,000 less than this year’s budget. By contrast, the last several years have seen annual increases of more than $1 million (which is fairly close to the national inflation rate of two percent). Kudos to the school administration for preserving the town’s strongest asset (and thus, our property values), while capturing the savings from decreased enrollment and the closing of Island Avenue School. Strong work!
