Things Can Change
Adam Greenberg knows that Connecticut is broken and fears for our state’s future; this has motivated him to run for 12th District state senator. Adam is a Guilford native and intends to remain on the shoreline and hopes his two young sons will also be able to.
Years of one-party rule left Connecticut with the slowest recovery in nation. We have close to the highest taxes and home values have tanked, while elsewhere home equity is booming.
Bad governance is driving businesses away, taking jobs and tax revenue. People are leaving at an accelerating rate, which must further depress home values.
We’re told that repeating the same action and expecting a different outcome is a sign of madness. Hartford’s mindset has been toxic for Connecticut, so we need a new perspective, a new direction to save us.
Not surprisingly, those who made this mess can see only one solution: raise more revenue. Tolls, we’re told, will hit out-of-state drivers, but electronic sensors every few miles on interstates and routes 8, 9, and 15 would result in us all getting another substantial monthly bill, another new tax. An unintended consequence likely would be congested side roads as drivers avoid tolls. I can see this being the last nail in Connecticut’s coffin; nobody will want to come here.
This isn’t a happy letter to write, but if we elect new people with a new mindset, not wedded to the old ways, things can change. We need to rebuild our economy and rather than new revenue, Adam would look for waste. Connecticut is extremely profligate and spends hugely more than other states on providing its services. We need Adam’s fresh and honest perspective to help rebuild our economy and save Connecticut.
I encourage your readers to vote Adam Greenberg on Nov. 6.
