Recognizing the Value
This letter is to thank the Westbrook town officials for recognizing the value of the Westbrook Public Nurses. I have worked as a registered nurse for 31 years, though not for the town of Westbrook. I know how important it is, especially for elderly people, to stay in their own home when they are sick or just need some support.
The article [Nov. 24, “Selectmen Agree: Westbrook Nurses a Valuable Asset”] in the Harbor News about how supportive the Westbrook government officials were when they responded to the nurses’ work was so refreshing. Reading it made me proud to be a Westbrook resident. Clearly our town values caring, compassion, and the wellbeing of our residents. I have no doubt the patients receiving care are thrilled they can continue to have “their nurses” care for them.
