Old Saybrook Girls’ Lacrosse Improves to 6-0; Girls’ Tennis Edges North Branford
Girls’ Lacrosse
The Old Saybrook girls’ lacrosse squad played two games last week and came away with a pair of victories. The wins improved the Rams’ record to 6-0 on the year.
On April 29, Old Saybrook hosted Morgan and earned a 14-5 victory over the Huskies.
Lily Cody had a stellar showing with six goals and a pair of assists in the win. Gilly Hartt added three goals. Laura Day supplied five goals. Chelsea Heinke tallied a pair of assists. Grace Adams had a goal and two assists in the victory.
Samantha Wakelee made eight saves in the net for the Rams.
Two days later, Old Saybrook hosted Watertown and claimed a 14-5 home win.
Cody was a force to be reckoned with again with four goals and five assists, while Day scored five goals. Heinke added three goals in the win, and Hartt supplied two goals and an assist. Grace Adams provided a goal and an assist. Wakeley made five stops in the net.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The Rams played two games and lost them both. The defeats drop Old Saybrook’s record to 1-4 on the season.
On April 27, the Rams lost 17-10 home match up against Old Lyme. Two days later, Old Saybrook took a 16-7 road defeat against Morgan.
Girls’ Tennis
Old Saybrook played three matches last week and came away with a win and two losses, moving to 2-7 on the year.
On April 26, Old Saybrook hosted Westbrook and dropped a 6-1 match against the Knights. The Rams’ lone victory came from the No. 3 doubles tandem of Taylor Stone and Elizabeth Ryan, who secured a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Two days later, the Rams headed to Portland where they took a 5-2 loss against the Highlanders.
On May 1, Old Saybrook hosted North Branford and secured a 4-3 victory over the Thunderbirds.
Boys’ Tennis
The Rams played a pair of matches last week and took losses in both of them. The defeats drops Old Saybrook’s record to 0-7 on the season.
On April 26, the Rams headed to Westbrook and took a 6-0 loss versus the Knights. Two days later, Old Saybrook hosted Portland and lost a 6-0 match to the Highlanders.

On April 26, the Rams headed to Deep River to take on Valley Regional and lost an 8-7 contest versus the Warriors.
On April 30, Old Saybrook lost a 9-7 road game against East Hampton.
Softball
The Old Saybrook softball team played three games last week and took losses in all three. With these defeats, the Rams record fell to 2-6 on the season.
On April 26, Old Saybrook hosted Valley Regional and lost a 12-3 contest versus the Warriors. Two days later, the Rams headed to Cromwell where they dropped a 12-0 contest to the Panthers. On April 30, Old Saybrook lost a 14-9 home contest against East Hampton-Portland.
Boys’ Golf
Old Saybrook just had one match last week due to postponements on account of inclement weather. The Rams took a loss in their lone match of the week and their record fell to 1-4 on the year.
On April 30, Old Saybrook headed to Lyman Orchards Golf Course to take on Coginchaug. The Rams took a 196-214 loss against the Blue Devils.
